Your daily goal:
Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
(Monday-Friday, from my morning time of study and reflection, I will share with you what God is teaching me. I ask you then to join me in each day and pray that God will use our time to draw us to a deeper understanding of His will and His ways. Our objective is simple…to ‘see’ and ‘know’ the light and love of Christ Jesus..‘so that’ we will GO OUT and share the love of Christ Jesus with someone in that day….to GO and bear fruit …to be light to the world.)
Today’s Daily Light
Continuing with summary ‘key’ thoughts from …The Search For Significance, by R. McGee
So by now…in this study….we are aware that many of our beliefs about our self-worth have been based on our performance and others’ opinions. False beliefs have thus become the primary basis we use to evaluate ourselves and the situations we face.
Our beliefs usually influence our thoughts, emotions, and actions. False beliefs are Satan’s lies, and they generate ungodly thoughts, painful emotions, and sinful actions. An ungodly performance serves to reinforce these false beliefs, which supports the conviction I am what I am. We may fee trapped and hopeless to be anything different from who we are right now. Take heart! There is hope! God has made you a new creature.
Webster’s New World Dictionary defines regeneration as “renewed or restored; to cause to be spiritually reborn; to cause to be completely reformed; to bring into existence again.”
You have been made into a new person. At the instant of your conversion to Christ, you were born again as a new spiritual being. God creates by fiat, that is, He makes something from nothing. Your new birth brought about more than a change of direction. It gave you a completely new nature with new capacities to reflect God’s image in your daily life. This new creature resides in your body, but it is as different from your old self as a horse is from a man.
Your regeneration was accomplished:
- by the will of God
- through believing faith in Jesus Christ’s death for you
- by the renewing of the Holy Spirit
- through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
- by the Word of God
2 Corinthians 5:17…Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Friends…I pray this morning that all of us will learn to identify the ‘old sin nature’ that is controlled by Satan as he brings his ideas to our mind ‘so that’ he can keep us distracted and limit our production in the things that are eternal …. and on every occasion that we identify his ideas being presented to us….we go ‘gotcha’…and we sing a song of praise to the Lord…or…we simply begin to talk and pray to our great God…or…we read or quote a verse of scripture….and we use the ‘gotcha’ to switch gears…change realms…change our mind from old to new…and move-into the ‘new nature’…the new ‘nature of Christ’ ‘so that’ we can move into the strength and mind of the ‘new nature’ …that lives inside us ‘so that’ we can be light and love to the world around us ‘so that’ we can bear eternal fruit. Amen
