Daily Light – Oct 13, 2017

Today’s Daily Light:

Final thoughts this week:   We are either totally lost in darkness or we are totally in the light ‘in’ Christ….if we are ‘in’ Christ..and we accurately identify what is going on around us in the eternal sense…then we need to become consumed with going to the lost and shining the light of ‘life’…the light of ‘eternal life’..to/for the lost.  Thus the question is…why would we not?   Our theme this week has been:

1 John 5:12 “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

John Piper says it well…. “And so it is with the Son of God. He has two goals: the liberation of his people from sin and death, and the glorification of his own powers. That is the origin of salvation. That is the source of eternal life. And to show that what he loves is the liberation of his people and the magnification of his power, his services are not for sale. He will not be paid.

So how do you come to HAVE the Son of God? He makes you a free offer, and you accept his offer, you trust him. He does his thing for those who trust in him. He who has the Son has life.”

Father…help us see that all around us everyday is life and death…those that have life..and those that don’t.   Life ‘in the here-and-now’…it is not the ‘eternal’ abundant life that Jesus speaks of in John 10:10…help us to become burdened with the ‘call’ to go out and shine the light of truth to those in darkness, to those that are perishing, and to tell them about the free gift of eternal life that is only in and through the Son, Jesus.  Amen
