Daily Light – May 25, 2018

Your daily goal:
Philippians 3:14  press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
(Monday-Friday, from my morning time of study and reflection, I will share with you what God is teaching me.  I ask you then to join me in each day and pray that God will use our time to draw us to a deeper understanding of His will and His ways.  Our objective is simple…to ‘see’ and ‘know’ the light and love of Christ Jesus..‘so that’ we will GO OUT and share the love of Christ Jesus with someone in that day….to GO and bear fruit …to be light to the world.)

A Few Days of Summary Main Points

Friends…next few days will be ‘epic’ mini-meals via reiteration of key principles….please eat slowly in order to digest 😊

More on Propitiation:   God’s plan for us is centered in the cross.  To understand His plan, we must first understand the meaning of propitiation.

Prior to our spiritual birth (new birth – regeneration), even our good deeds were despicable to God (Isaiah 64:6).  If we are honest about our performance, we must admit that we have sinned thousands of times, even after having accepted Christ.

The problem with our sinfulness is that God is absolutely holy, pure, and perfect.  There is absolutely nothing unholy in Him.  God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).  Therefore, since God is holy, He cannot overlook or compromise with sin.  It took one sin to separate Adam from God.  One.  For God to condone even one sin would instantly defile His holiness, which He indicates by His righteous condemnation of sin (Romans 6:23).

The Father did not escape witnessing His Son’s mistreatment:  the mocking, the scourging, and the cross.  He could have spoken and ended the whole ordeal, yet He kept silent.  Confronted with the suffering of His Son, He chose to let it continue ‘so that’ we could be saved.  What an expression of love!  Its depth is unsearchable.

Try to recall an experience in which you were loved by someone special.  That person adored you and wanted to be with you.  You didn’t have to perform; just being with you was enough.  The thought of that person selecting you to love was intoxicating.  All other facets of life seemed to diminish.  He or she loved you, and that love was soothing to you and satisfied many of your inner longings.

If the love of a person can make us feel this way, consider how much greater joy the heavenly Father’s love can bring.  We can’t truly experience the love of the Father unless we realize that it supersedes any experience of being loved by another man or woman.

God loves you, and He enjoys revealing His love to you.  He enjoys being loved by you, but He knows you can love Him only if you are experiencing His love for you.  (read that last sentence 10 times 😊)  Propitiation means that His wrath has been removed and that you are deeply loved!   (con’t tomorrow)

Father…what I am realizing is that I have spent most of my Christian life ‘not’ fully enjoying or experiencing or appropriating the depth…the benefits…of just how much You truly love me.   I realize that is on me and not on You.  I realize more each day just how much the sin nature that lives in our body…just how much it has damaged our spiritual receptors and abilities and how truly, truly we must be born anew from above and regenerated and then to daily nourish that ‘new spirit self’ inside us ‘so that’ we can regenerate and come to fully know Your love.   You only want good and best for us.   You are sooo good.   Amen
