Your daily goal:
Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
(Monday-Friday, from my morning time of study and reflection, I will share with you what God is teaching me. I ask you then to join me in each day and pray that God will use our time to draw us to a deeper understanding of His will and His ways. Our objective is simple…to ‘see’ and ‘know’ the light and love of Christ Jesus..‘so that’ we will GO OUT and share the love of Christ Jesus with someone in that day….to GO and bear fruit …to be light to the world.)

Exposing Ungodly Thoughts
Our thoughts reveal what we really believe. Say that again.. our thoughts reveal what we really believe. So..what do we think about as to how we view and see things in both the natural and spiritual dimensions?
Yet..it is difficult for most of us to be objective in our thinking simply because we haven’t trained ourselves to be. We usually let any and every thought run its course in our minds without analyzing its worth. Is it a God-honoring thought, or is it a speculation or a ‘lofty’ thing raised up against the knowledge of God (2 Cor 10:5)?
It is very helpful to be able to identify thoughts that are not honoring God. Then we can reject them and replace them with truth. One way of identifying such thoughts is to state what is true and see what thoughts come to mind. Hopefully, our thoughts will increasingly reflect our thankfulness to god for who He is and what He has done for us, but sometimes we will respond by contradicting the truth.
For example, you might respond to the truth that you are full pleasing to God by thinking, No, I’m not! I mess up all the time; to be fully pleasing, I’d have to be perfect! When we see it written out, we easily recognize that response as a lie. However, we seldom write down our thoughts and analyze their validity.
As a first step in this analysis, write down your thoughts in response to the four truths we’ve been examining. (Again, they will probably be mixed: some positive, thankful, and godly, and some contradictory to the truth.)
Write down your thoughts in response to the 4 following truths:
I am deeply loved by God:
I am completely forgiven and am fully pleasing to God:
I am totally accepted by God:
I am complete in Christ:
Thoughts that contradict these truths are lies. Learn to reject them and replace them with passages of Scripture to reinforce the truth in your mind. Here are some passages to reflect on:
- Justification: Romans 3:19-24; 4:4-5; 5:1-11; Titus 2:11-14
- Propitiation: Matthew 18:21-35; Luke 7:36-50; Romans 3:25; 8:1-8; Colossians 3:12-14; Hebrews 2:17; 3:4-7
- Reconciliation: John 15:14-16; Romans 5:8-10; 8:15; Ephesians 2:11-18
- Regeneration: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:4-5; 4:22-24; Colossians 3:5-17
(Con’t Monday, May 21… I will be away from my computer and study materials for all of next week. I encourage you to spend time reflecting and grazing in the Scripture verses above. Make them your own…burn them into the operating software in your mind. 😊
Jesus….I pray for all of us that we are seeing and understanding ‘what’ YOU did for us in Your death and resurrection….I pray that we are seeing the full amazing, wonderful, and eternal value of what You provided…’so that’ we can and will live our lives to honor and glorify YOU.. ‘so that’ the light of this revelation will motivate us to go out and share the good news about You to the eternally lost and dying. Amen
