Continued from yesterday’s thought….
The Sin Nature is like an Alien Intelligence that lives inside the human body…it has purpose and goals…
Romans 7:21-25 NIV , The Apostle Paul writes “So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God – through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.”
If you follow DL…then you know that I circle back to cover this subject quite a lot. The ‘reason’ I cover and re-cover this topic is ‘because’ I know that you, as a believer, will grow stronger and be empowered in your faith-walk if you can come to see and understand the profound impact and power of the ‘flesh’, the sin nature, the alien entity, the sin virus, that is at work in the human body and mind to keep believers from being all they can be in their role, position, and work as ambassadors of Christ. And as for non-believers…yikes… this Sin entity has the power to totally ‘blind’ non-believers ‘so that’ they cannot see the truth and glory of God as Creator, Savior, and Lord.
I see this understanding as providing great truth, liberation, and freedom for you/us as we learn to identify how the sin nature works inside us ‘so that’ we can overcome its negative effects by the power of the Spirit of Jesus that lives inside us. I believe that if you can identify the working of the ‘jedi mind tricks’ of the dark side…that you can become empowered to use the light sabre of the Word of God and to draw upon the force of the power of Jesus Christ that lives ‘in’ you. 😊
