(Monday-Friday, from my morning quiet time, I will write a short thought for that day which I pray God will use to motivate you to ‘GO’ for that day. Your objective is simple…to GO…to GO OUT and share the love of Christ with someone in that day….to GO and bear fruit …to be light to the world.)
Today’s Daily Light
The Holy Scripture (the Word) is ‘completely reliable’ and is God’s spoken words and originated from God.
2 Peter
1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
1:19-21 19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
This is soooo important for us to see this huge beacon of truth… Peter said “Above all..you must understand” that the writers of the holy scriptures did not simply set down to write a historical record of what they personally believed as truth within their own ability and power to do so…no…nor did they provide us their own ideas and interpretation of simply what they believed to be true…. No.
God is the absolute author and writer of His ‘word’. He breathed His God Spirit breath …infused His words into the minds of the writers to illuminate and inspire them to produce exactly what He wanted them to write…’so that’ we would have the truth and light of His way..His will…His guidance…His perfect plan….shining out into the darkness in and around and in front of us…’so that’ we would know the truth and be equipped and prepared to walk-out the daily walk in this temporary realm we call life.
In the grand scheme of things…as to time….this thing we call life is just the beginning of life….we are just beginning to live. As God’s children…placed ‘in’ Christ…we have eternal life ‘now’. God’s word is light and power to link us to the knowledge of eternal source and supply. We have to..must…absolutely essential to…. live in the Word…so that we have that constant source of light and power to see the path…to have power to deal with the negative influence of the darkness that belongs to this temporary age.
God gave us Jesus as our Savior so that we would be His children now and on into eternity. God gave us His ‘word’ to lead and guide and equip and direct our path through this temporary part of our eternal life because He knew/knows we need constant light to help us see the truth along the journey ‘so that’ we can achieve His highest and greatest desires for us while we journey in this temporary body in this temporary part of our life. The ‘word’ is a must…an absolute…the essential Daily Lght that we must have. It is our daily bread.
