(Monday-Friday, from my morning quiet time, I will write a short thought for that day which I pray God will use to motivate you to ‘GO’ for that day. Your objective is simple…to GO…to GO OUT and share the love of Christ with someone in that day….to GO and bear fruit …to be light to the world.)
Today’s Daily Light
The Glory of God Some can see…Some cannot see (con’t)
We have already shared with you that God’s glory is revealed in the Creation of all things. We also know, from scripture, that Jesus Christ reveals to us the glory of God..that He, God-the-Son, is of the same divine Glory as the Father…in that they are ‘One.’
John 1:14 NIV “The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
We also know that the inspired word of God reveals to us the glory of God which is the ‘light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.’
And through scripture we know that the dark side…the god of this present age…has blinded the minds of unbelievers ‘so that’ they cannot see God’s glory…cannot see Jesus in His glory…or see the light of Jesus through the message in the scriptures/gospel.
2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV The god (Satan) of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, ‘so that’ they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Ephesians 4:18 NIV They (unbelievers) are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in themdue to the hardening of their hearts.
All humans/people are created in the ‘image of God’. We have the ‘image’ of His divine glory inside our being…in our human spirit. That ‘image’ is designed for us to ‘knowledge of ’ HIM and come to have a personal revelation/relationship with HIM. It is only through God’s spirit merging, coming to reside in our human spirit, wherein the God designed ‘divine’ level of knowing takes place.
1 John 4:13 NIV We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
At the time of our salvation experience, where we repent and come to the cross, and Jesus reconciles us to God, and we are given eternal life …we also are ‘reborn’…a literal spiritual regeneration occurs..and God’s sends His Spirit to come and live inside us……and it is through this merging of God’s Spirit with our spirit that ‘divine knowing’ occurs…we come to see the divine glory of God…we come to ‘know’ HIM who is the divine glory….our Jesus…and our Father-God.
SIN..the SIN principle…the force/power/entity of SIN…is the primary agent that the dark side (the god of this present age) has at his disposal to ‘blind’ the minds of unbelievers and darken their understanding and harden their hearts. Think of the entity/force of SIN as an alien virus that invaded the operating software of the human spirit/heart and corrupted its divinely designed operating capacity.
People were created/designed by God in His image…we were designed with a human spirit..and that spirit is where we have ‘spirit’ function. At the ‘Fall of Man’, the purposed function and capacity was diminished. The SIN virus corrupted the original programed function and capacity. SIN, thus, has literally blinded…hardened…darkened the functioning capacity so that the operating software cannot see or know the Designer…doesn’t distinguish its Creator…thus does not ‘know’ HIM.
Thus the vital necessity of spiritual regeneration. Thus our need for ‘help’ from God the designer/creator to restore our function and capacity ‘so that’ we can see and know. We need the indwelling of God’s Spirit residing in our spirit ‘so that’ we can see, know, glorify, and give thanks.
Father…I don’t know why you chose me/us to see and know you…but…the very good news…great news…glorious news…is that YOU did. Wow. Help us to glorify you and give you thanks with every breath and action we take. Help us to go out into the darkness and proclaim the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. Amen
