Christmas is Jesus… A Savior has been given to us!
The Savior Came to Save and Love and Heal
Luke 7:11-16 (Soo…the context of this is that baby Jesus, God-the-Son in human skin, now all grown up… is out in the world doing what you would do if your were God-the-Son, the Savior…you save, love, and breathe resurrection life into impossible situations). Luke wrote this: “Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out – the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from thte town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said , “young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said, “God has come to help his people.” The news about Jesus spread…”
Jesus, the Savior, breathes resurrection life into the living and the dead. He was/is God, creator, giver of life. He is the ‘same’ Jesus/Savior today, 2000 years later, still out in the world, saving, loving, healing. But today, He has chosen to be ‘out there’ by living his resurrected life through ‘you’. You get to take the Savior ‘out there’ so that He can do what He does best…he saves, loves, helps, breathes resurrection life into situations where pain and suffering are overwhelming. He breathes life and love into situations that seem beyond hope.
If we belong to the Savior…then our calling is to ‘go’. Go out there and step into the gap where people are lost, dying, hurting, and introduce them to the healer and Savior of our souls.
Lord Jesus….I am such a poor representative of yours as compared to how much you loved the hurting and lost and those without hope. Help me/us to see that if we will go out there…that you promise to go with us and you promise that you will do what you do best…save, love, help, in situations that seem beyond hope. Thank you Jesus…that you are the way you are. That you present yourself to the world as a Savior. You came to Save. Amen
