Today’s Daily Light:

John 14:15-17      Jesus said “If you love me, you will obey what I command.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth.  The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.  But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. “

Wow.  As believers who are ‘in’ Christ Jesus, we have His Spirit that comes to live in us ‘forever’.   And it is His Spirit living in us wherein He communicates to our spirit to make us know that this is ‘true’ and to know the eternal truths of life. 

1 John 4:13, John says “We ‘know‘ that we live in him and he in us, because, he has given us of his Spirit.”

God’s word (scripture) and God’s Spirit living inside us, work in harmony to keep us balanced and focused on the eternal principles of truth.   We must spend time listening to God’s Spirit ‘so that’ this precious truth of life stays at the top of our ideas and thoughts and drives and motivates all of our activity.  

The mind of the sin nature that lives inside our bodies does everything it can every day, every moment, to keep us from hearing the voice of God, from hearing the truth.   We will see in the next few days how important it is to ‘abide’ and remain in this truth ‘so that’ we can maximize our time on earth in being ‘light’ to the lost in the world who do not have the Spirit of truth.
