The objective of this series, The Entrance of Light, will be to define God’s plan for bringing us out of darkness and into the ‘light’. There is no greater truth in life than to know what God has provided as to His plan for saving us from the darkness. And thus it is essential that we know and understand both ‘what’ and ‘how’ of his provision. In coming to understand God’s provision and plan, we will come to understand the essential nature of the biblical principles and laws of the theological concept of Atonement and how Atonement procures for us a ‘standing and position before God’ that is identified in the New Testament as ‘Justification.’ Once we know and understand what God has done ‘for us’ and ‘to us’, we then must learn how to apply and use the light and truth of what he has given us. It is a learning process. The more we know and understand about God’s intention and design for our ‘maturation’ process, how the pieces and parts fit together, the more we will experience living life to his ‘full’.
Ephesians 2:10 NIV “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Romans 12:2 NIV “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
First, we will spend some time looking at how the light of God’s truth works inside our human spirit to provide accurate navigation in our journey into experiencing him in the ‘full’.
The ‘Light’ of God’s Truth is our Compass
The ‘light’ of God’s truth illuminating our spirit and mind serves to function as our internal compass as we seek to navigate through life. Where does our compass say we are headed in life? What is our direction for today, tomorrow, next week, next month, this year? What ideas or views do we have that are the internal ‘controls’ that orient our compass? All of us have a ‘direction’ that we are traveling in life. Even if we think we don’t have a specific direction, we do. Life is always moving forward, taking us with it in its never ending and relentless movement through this thing we call ‘time’. Movement through life can be easily likened to being on a boat on the ocean with us being the captain and navigator of the boat. Let me suggest that ‘every’ boat comes with the standard equipment of a steering wheel and a compass. They are built-in standard components in all boats. ALL boats are ‘moving’ in ‘some’ direction. The elements of nature, the wind, the ocean currents, make it absolute that movement will occur. Thus it is reasonable to say that ‘every’ incremental move has purpose and relationship to direction. Thus far we have the elements of the ocean, the boat, the captain. Now let’s add in another dimension and component. God. In our ocean-boat-captain-God scenario, let’s place God in the position of an invisible ‘supernatural being’ that has control of the ocean, connection to all captains, and intention and purpose as relates to navigation and direction for the overall objective of arriving with a ‘full’ boat at the final destination.
The goal for the blog is to help captains learn how to use the truth of God’s ‘light’ to calibrate their compass ‘so that’ they can maximize navigation related to overall direction in life by coming to understand the truth of God’s light as it relates to His purpose and relationship to our life.
